Almost done...

There are 3 weeks left, and year one will be over. I'm 8 pounds heavier than when I came - ugh. I didn't expect to work nearly as hard as I have, but I'm not sure why I expected so. What it's meant has been less exercise than any point in the last 10 years of my life.

But, for the summer this could change. It does not look like I will be an intern anywhere. At first, I found this to be disconcerting but now I am not so sure. From a personal standpoint it will be great. From a professional one I am not sure. Few of the summer positions out there are really in what I want to do, but they would be opportunities to network. On the other hand, I can spend time focusing on my research, portfolio management, and my overall mental and physical health (by slowing down some) and gear up for the full-time job search coming in the fall.

Most students, Keven included, will be interning somewhere...but not all. I can think of some students having new children to raise, semesters abroad, or Military duty to head back to.

Maybe this summer could be an opportunity to put some things in serious perspective because my family certainly has not seen or heard me much since school started. I can say that the MBA is certainly a sacrifice - more so than I thought it would be. A good one, I think, but that doesn't mean it is easy.

Sorry to hear about the internship. Based on your other blog, there is no question you know what you are talking about.

I am taking June off and plan to dedicate that time to completing my research report on Sprint and digging deeper into finding some opportunities in the market. We will keep in touch.

There's nothing to be sorry about. I've been pretty picky about positions, and will continue to be!

If you need any ideas for opportunities, just let me know. I usually have some :-)

ASAP is a weird beast. I'm still not entirely sure they think interns are useful yet.

Considering how hard you guys have been working this semester a break may be good for you

I'm really enjoying this site. It looks like you are me, except one year ahead. I will begin my MBA/CFA @ a top 20 in about 1 week -- I'm nervous, but incredibly excited!

If you have any tips about the job search -- or CFA exam -- let me know. I hope you continue to write for the site in the Fall.
